Overview
The City is Golden is a wonderful, small town, nestled between North and South Table Mountains and the Front Range at the base of Clear Creek Canyon. Home to Coors, Golden has a rich history of gold mining, adventure sports, and beer! With over a dozen great breweries, we will surely miss many great spots on the list below, but the classics are listed. While Golden is not traditionally known for its large variety of dining options, things have improved over the years and the number of good restaurants has gone up drastically.

What To Do Other Than Climbing in Golden
- Tube or swim in Clear Creek. During the months of mid-June through September, the water in Clear Creek, in downtown Golden, is pretty awesome for swimming or tubing down the creek in. The temperature can vary form 50 to 65 degrees, but the air temperature gets up to 80-90 degrees in the summer, so it feels amazing! You can rent tubes in town or buy some off Amazon.
- Hike around North or South Table Mountains
- Hike The Windy Saddle Trail on Lookout Mountain Road. This trail goes along the rim of the canyon and offers great views.
- Tour the Coors Brewery, in downtown Golden
- You can go white water rafting higher up in the canyon, towards Idaho Springs.
- Fly fishing in Clear Creek
